This is the title. (2008-08-28 19:27 par Alipay [alipay@joelindien.com])
With summer swiftly drawing to an anti-climatic close, it's about time we took a few moments, just to look back on all the fun, drama and dorp-less nights we have shared over the past month.

Our story begins up in Sky. Way, way up.. in the sky.

Although God pops have been fairly infrequent, our pop item list has been steadily growing. From the few we have used, we can congratulate many people on lot's of freelot stuff, and Kirin on being a Grade A asshole.
Speaking of Kirin and assholes, we decided to up our game and zerg our second Kirin down. Two Bards, 23 people, and it took us 5 minutes this time.

(note: if the quality is truly unbearable, click on the video and use the High Quality option (it works if you're signed into Youtube))

Elsewhere, we continued to farm torques over in sea.

Applying straight tank tactics for once was fun, and it failed to produce torques.

Aslong as Xortax reserves that Torque, it will not drop.
The same goes for the rest of them!
All 10 of them.
(I jest)

Tears were shed, torques were NOT dropped.. all in a months work in sea!

Down in the dark chambers of Einherjar, we ploughed through Tier III.

Well, almost..

Only one more Tier III clear and 873 repeats stand between us and Odin, does the thought of D.Feet excite anybody else?

In Salvage, we have been graced and disgraced.
This past week saw an incredibly awesome pair of 35s drop, and an incredibly annoying pair of drops from our second boss kill!

BCC screws us over once more, prolonging completed pieces.

Congrats to Basara and Glirhuin!

This past Monday saw us finally conquer Arrapago Remnants, clearing every NM we planned to do AND the boss with one minute to spare.
However, it wasn't a normal run.

Oh, yes, Macha's Coat dropped. Congrats to me, maybe my wrists will stop bleeding now.
And did the boss continue with this awesome drop spree?

No! But congrats to myself and Glirhuin on the lolfreelot bodies.
On previous runs, we saw our third and fourth chariot drops...

x2
Both were freelot, to Ganesha and Glirhuin (WHHHHYYYYYY). And that's not all! Bhaflau finally puts out:

Congrats to Valteira on the boots, making him 2/3.

Moving away from the town of Q.Q, we popped a ZNM here and there, producing some fun drops.

Congrats to Xortax on the Naglering. Maybe you should skill up your Great Sword now?
And also to Klein and Atomnium on Enkidu's Subligar from Dea.

And finally, the talk of the month. Our resident SCH, Atton, found Sandworm up unclaimed. In a mad, excited dash, 13 of us gathered to play with the recent Doomvoid HNMs. Pessimism reigned, however;

We were sucked in to find ourselves face-to-face with an angry Serket, hell-bent on revenge from our deeds to him in the future. It makes sense if you think about it.

A fun, yet surprisingly easy fight, leading to a shocking double-drop.

Unsure what on earth to do with them, we used ye-olde sell/split for a hefty 480k each.
20 hours later we camped again.

This time he was in Batallia Downs, leading us to King Artho and his Knight Crab adds of doom.

Infact, we were graced with KA three times in a row, granting us three Avalon Breastplates and two Avalon Shields (yay..).

And I would like to introduce Team Avalon™, featuring Atton Potter, Tarass' legs, Arouz, and Britan's Next Top Model; Alipay!

..yeah.

Moving swiftly on!
On the fifth day, we were shocked to find Lambton Worm up.
Sadly, one of our two tanks was trapped outside with the stupid black screen glitch, meaning we had one tank (with a hang over, no less).

Unfortunately, due to our lack of a 2nd tank, a good 20 minutes was wasted on holding, leading us a time out. Still, it was fun to have a week alone with the new content, and the drops were more than pleasing (Nilheim looks super sexy, right?!).

And on that note, I'm out of random, blabberish none-sense to type! I'd like to thank and congratulate everyone on a more than successful summer. May the second summer (read: winter) be even more productive!

Three (2008-08-03 18:01 par Alipay [alipay@joelindien.com])
Today's amazingly innovative, witty and charming news update is brought to you by the number Three.
During the past month we have cleared our third Tier II einherjar chamber, defeated our third set of outdoor Jailers in sea, defeated our third Jailer of Love, defeated a Salvage chariot on our third try and to top it all off, we lost thirty-thousand experience points to Absolute Virtue!

Pictures!

Sky provided some nice abjurations to keep the "Exit" door congestion down.

Einherjar saw the unveiling of Nilheim's super-secret-and-evil cult of undead things that we killed and timed out to. But just three easy, zerg-filled wins stand between us and Odin.

(hug tiem in sea!)

This set of indoor and outdoor jailers rewarded us with a grand total of zero torques/capes (congrats to the floor on a lovely selection of shiny, old jailer weapons!), but surely JoL would be nice?

Yes, JoL did lead to some very nice drops.

No, not that drop (although, congrats to Lemmming.. I guess), THESE drops:

(we last 1 minute and 43 seconds but we got him to 99%!)

I can still hear the cries and the echoes of the "Level Down" tune...
Still, we were able to test out a strategy from BG forums. You can view the video below.

And finally, AzureusSalvage has done the unthinkable and defeated a Salvage chariot.

Congrats to Onaga and Kosomomo on the burden that is Im. Wootz Ingots!

With Odin, another Kirin and our fourth JoL just around the corner, I don't know if I have the strength to keep up with all these news updates! Cropping and uploading pictures that lag you out everytime you try to reach the forums is tough work... phew.
Well, see you next time.

Pourquoi etes-vous en retard, you pathetic excuse for an active leader?! (2008-06-17 01:24 par Alipay [alipay@joelindien.com])

Yes, Cait Sith is just as shocked as you are. I summoned all of my collective energy and willpower to bring to you, my lovably adoring and oh-so loyal readers, an update.
The past month has been an overly productive month, with the big update last week bringing new challenges to the plate of FFXI endgame, and changing older ones for the better.

Sea has been slow due to those exam things that people do, but we're planning to return once more to the outside Jailers in hopes of seeing some more Hope Staves and Love Halberds.
Inside, however, we were shocked to recieve our second and third capes in one night!

Congratulations to Alipay and Atton on Altruistic and Astute capes, respectively!

Some things should stay behind closed doors, but someone forgot to stop the Quasilumin.

Elsewhere, Byakko shows us his darker, meaner side;

Not many notable drops from the weaker Gods, although Kirin has been more than generous to our Shura Togi wishlists (and Fehrwen!);

He ""graced"" us with 3 togi's in three pops, the last pop dropping Fehrwen's long awaited w.legs. Big congratulations on those!
Whilst we're on the topic of Kirin, we attempted our first zerg-burn-rape Kirin two weeks ago. Our Bards unleashed their shining disco balls (oh, wait... nope, that sounds right) and sang until their throats ran dry as the last mini-god fell, and the alliance was swiftly prepared...
...until Nilheim, the tank party leader, began to d/c.
Vital seconds lead to the songs wearing off, and Kirin didn't die as fast as we'd hoped he would.

All in all he was downed in 8 minutes and 52 seconds. Next time we hope to bring him down ever faster, as it relieves the pain of having to be in sky for longer than 5 minutes at a time.

The last update brought us a blessed change to the Einherjar system. Not only did it eliminate the need to repeat every single chamber for every single person who was missing (which we JUST finished doing, thanks SE), but it eliminated the ever-so-annoying zone-wide link fest and crushed it down to a typical, field style link fest.
With this change we devised a new strategy and we put it to the test in our second Tier II attempt this past saturday.

Needless to say it worked and we were shocked to a generous reward;

No, not an abjuration, don't be silly. Instead we recieved an astounding 960 points, compared to the old 750, an extremely easy win, and 80k's worth of ingots!

Below is a video of our boss fight.

And here's some random pictures from the last few months of einherjar.

On the topic of ToAU events, smaller groups of Salvage and Nyzul Isle have been equally productive.

Our first boss attempt, although a time out in the end, proved valuable in the experience-curve grind of this horrible game.

Two pairs of Usukane pants going to Kosomomo and Basara, completing one piece!

Grats to Kosomomo!

Congrats to Ganesha.
And our after 9months of no Mad Bomber or Gate Widow pop/drops;

Congratulations to Alipay on finishing Marduk's Shalwar, and to Kosomomo (again!) on the gloves.

Nyzul Isle also provided a treat for Glirhuin the Unsilenced for his SAM37:

If you feel angered by the fact that these went to a SAM37, please do not hesitate to kidnap or violate Glirhuin, and please, don't bring him back.

Finally, the new NM system (hereby dubbed ZNMs for "Zeni Notoirous Monsters") has proved fun, relaxing, easy and overall very rewarding. This saturday we plan to tackle our first Tier 4 ZNM; Khimaira.

Congrats to Atton on the Karura Hachigane!

Congrats to Basara, Onaga, Sharpe, Atton and Alipay on shields/capes.

And finally congratulations to Basara, Atton and Warutaru on an assortment of grips, Warutaru on a Legion Scutum, and Alemona on the Aurum gauntlets.

With exam time drawing to a close, the summer looks like a prosperous, drama-filled time of fun, hate, joy and anger for AzureusSky. Ready your translators, men!

Je ne sais quoi le title should be (2008-04-30 23:32 par Alipay [alipay@joelindien.com])
Hello again. As exams creep in, times are low-manned and rough for AzureusSky. Alas, with the power of our international-intellectuals, we pulled through yet another awesome month of successful farming.

I'd blast you with more pictures of Kirin being hit by an assortment of magical barrages, WS's and Blood Pacts, but quite frankly I can't be bothered!
Congratulations to Shanae on Hecatomb Harness, Sharpe on Kirin's Osode and finalllly Nilheim on Crimson Cuisses!

Oh, I managed to scavenge some pictures.

Elsewhere, our Einherjarius Domina..ri..us.. continued. With alot of repeats needed after the inital wins, we are swiftly shifting through the chambers again.
Oh, no pictures here either... hmm!

And finally, our sea dominance continued, this time with real life drops!

Congrats to Kathlyn on our first sea cape!

Congrats to Nikola on Temp. Torque and the new sackholder position!

Aaaand congrats to Ganesha on Hope Torque.
With Hope down, we were 2/3 for our second JoL popset. So we marched on down to give our good friend Prudence a good smack-up this passed tuesday.

Would Prudence maintain our 4-0 torque/cape streak?
lol, no, don't be silly.
Still! Our second Jailer of Love popset is complete, and this will take place Sunday @2pm GMT.
And that's all I can think of for now... I shall see you again when something interesting happens!

(note to self: take pictures!)
